Job summary

CMC Precision Engineering Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our precision engineering team. You will programme, set up and operate CNC turning machines to produce components to tight tolerances for motorsport and aerospace sectors.

You will read complex engineering drawings, perform in-process quality checks, and contribute to continuous improvement. Experience with Fanuc controls and ability to inspect your own work are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating CNC turning machines in a precision engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Competent in using precision measuring equipment and to self-inspect work.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC turning machines.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to manufacture to tight tolerances.
• Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain traceability of components and complete route cards.
• Edit and optimise CNC programs where authorised.
• Liaise with customer contacts regarding job requirements and queries.
• Contribute to quoting by providing time estimates and technical input.
• Ensure a clean, organised workspace and report quality issues promptly.
