Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Toolmaker to join a precision engineering environment in Bath. You will join a skilled toolroom team responsible for tooling, fixtures, and precision components to tight tolerances, programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery while upholding quality and efficiency.

You will work from engineering drawings, support production needs, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

Apprenticeship trained engineer with City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Proven CNC machining experience in precision engineering.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and milling machines.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM or offline programming software.

Responsibilities

Programming, setting, and operating CNC machine tools.
Manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures, and machine spares.
Support production machining requirements when required.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Produce precision components to tight tolerances.
Ensure quality standards and inspection requirements are met.
Identify and implement process improvements to maximise efficiency and reduce waste.
Mentor apprentices in the workshop.
