Job summary

Reed is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support a busy precision engineering environment across two sites. You will maintain CNС lathes, machining centres, and bespoke equipment, carrying out PPM and reactive repairs.

The role requires a time-served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) with 2+ years post-apprenticeship experience, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to work with production teams. CNC experience with multi-spindle lathes is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• At least 2 years' post-apprenticeship maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience maintaining manufacturing or production machinery.
• Multi-skilled or electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
• Experience with CNC machinery would be highly desirable, particularly multi-spindle lathes.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Supporting the reliability and performance of production machinery.
• Working closely with electrical engineers and production teams.
• Recording maintenance activities using the CMMS system.
• Assisting with continuous improvement activities.
