Job summary

Sword is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to take operational ownership of public cloud and hybrid cloud services across our managed customer environments. This is a hands‑on senior role focused on running production cloud services, governance, security, automation, monitoring, backup and recovery.

You will act as the senior escalation point for complex incidents, diagnose issues across cloud, network, identity and apps, restore service under pressure and address root causes to prevent

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise IT operations with production cloud experience
• Azure/AWS/GCP certifications at admin/engineer level
• ITIL Foundation or equivalent service-management qualification
• Strong knowledge of public/private/hybrid cloud architectures
• Experience supporting hybrid environments linking cloud to on-prem
• Understanding of cloud governance, access control and cost management
• Proven ability to diagnose complex service issues across cloud and on-prem
• Experience with observability platforms and cloud telemetry
• Automation and IaC using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform
• Managed service capabilities including escalation, RCA and mentoring

Responsibilities

• Own the health, reliability, security and continual improvement of customer public cloud and hybrid cloud services
• Operate and maintain services across major public cloud platforms: compute, storage, networking, identity, security, monitoring, backup and recovery
• Support hybrid cloud environments linking public cloud services with on-premises datacenters and edge locations
• Manage dependencies between cloud platforms, virtualization, networks and applications
• Apply and improve cloud governance controls, including policy, access management and cost oversight
• Develop automation and infrastructure‑as‑code for deployment, configuration and remediation
• Act as escalation point for incidents, performance issues and service failures across cloud environments
• Identify root causes, recurring failures and technical debt; drive corrective action
• Plan controlled platform changes with security, resilience and supportability considerations
• Support onboarding and service transition with documentation, observability and operational readiness
