Job summary

Sword Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to own the production cloud services across public and hybrid environments. You will ensure service health, governance and automation while working with multiple cloud platforms and on‑premise integrations.

The role emphasizes incident diagnosis, root‑cause analysis and continual improvement, with senior technical leadership and mentoring across the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in operating production cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of public, private and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Experience with automation and IaC tooling across cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health, reliability, security and continual improvement of customer public cloud and hybrid cloud services.
• Operate and maintain services across major public cloud platforms, covering compute, storage, networking, identity, security, monitoring, backup and recovery.
• Support hybrid cloud environments connecting public cloud services with on-premises datacentres, private cloud platforms, edge locations and legacy systems.
• Manage dependencies between cloud platforms, virtualization, OS, networks, identity, databases and applications.
• Apply and improve cloud governance controls, including policy, access management, configuration standards, compliance monitoring, cost oversight.
• Develop and maintain automation and infrastructure‑as‑code for deployment and operational tasks.
• Act as senior escalation point for incidents, performance issues and service failures across cloud environments.
• Identify root causes and drive corrective and preventative actions.
• Plan controlled platform changes with security, resilience and cost in mind.
• Support onboarding and service transition with documentation and observability for live operations.
