A Senior Cloud Engineer is a leading technical contributor who can consistently take a loosely defined business or technical requirement, architect and build it to a well-defined specification, and execute on it at a high level. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our product teams can produce reliable, scalable, and efficient applications. You will champion the best approach and practices, with trust and security as your utmost goal. You will collaborate closely with internal and external partners to adopt the latest technologies and practices that drive a culture of continuous improvement.

You will work as part of a team of talented, approachable engineers, who are driven by curiosity and innovation. There’s a wide variety of skillsets and skill levels within the team so there’s always someone to turn to when solving challenging problems. In this role you will

• Design and deploy scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) managed services.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable cloud infrastructure designs, looking for opportunities to share code and reduce maintenance burden.
• Provide input into the roadmap including from upstream teams to help improve the overall program of work and manage expectation of stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to colleagues, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture.
• Stay aligned with industry best practice in cloud infrastructure, continuously looking for opportunities to improve our architecture design, implementation, and security.
• Configure and optimise network architecture, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure high availability, a strong security posture, and maximum performance.
• Manage relationships with service providers to ensure seamless integration and support of infrastructure solutions.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues and provide technical support to internal teams.
• Optimise for resource utilisation and cost management.
• Support quality, governance, and compliance standards.

• Experience in the design and deployment of scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) managed services.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable cloud infrastructure designs, looking for opportunities to share code and reduce maintenance burden.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Master’s degree or PhD within Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
• Experience with the configuration and optimisation of network architecture, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure high availability, a strong security posture, and maximum performance.
• Experience managing relationships with service providers to ensure seamless integration and support of infrastructure solutions.
