Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist (Learning Disabilities) to join the team in Swindon. You will deliver specialist assessments and interventions for adults with complex needs, provide consultations, and supervise colleagues, within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will contribute to service development, training, and evidence-based practice, supported by CPD opportunities and a robust learning environment, while enjoying NHS pension and change-friendly culture.

Qualifications

• DClinPsy (or equivalent) with HCPC registration and eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status.
• Experience with psychological assessment and intervention in complex cases.
• Experience working with people with learning disabilities and providing consultation.
• Advanced assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention skills; Positive Behaviour Support.
• Strong communication, emotional resilience, and ability to manage challenging situations.
• Ability to balance responsibilities across teams and maintain electronic records.
• Significant post-qualification experience with ongoing CPD; supervising trainees.
• Experience in leadership or a senior clinical role; interest in learning disabilities.
• Knowledge of Liquidlogic and/or SystmOne.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with learning disabilities.
• Provide person-centred psychological support to individuals, families and carers across settings.
• Use advanced communication to engage individuals with difficulties or distress.
• Lead on supporting service users whose behaviours may challenge.
• Work within a Positive Behaviour Support framework to develop robust plans.
• Manage and prioritise a varied caseload with clinical judgement.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies for integrated care.
• Develop and deliver training, consultation and specialist advice.
• Contribute to service development, audits, research and quality improvement.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and utilise digital systems.
