Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join the Learning Disability Service on a 6‑month fixed‑term maternity cover starting Oct 2026. You will deliver high‑level psychological assessment and intervention for adults with learning disabilities, working within a multidisciplinary team at Carrswood Day Centre.

You will provide consultation, supervision and training to colleagues and partner agencies, aiming to embed psychologically informed practice and improve wellbeing

Qualifications

• Clinically expert psychologist with substantial experience in learning disabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills across multidisciplinary settings.
• Ability to provide supervision and professional leadership when needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Provide person-centred psychological support to individuals, families and carers across settings.
• Lead on consultation, teaching and supervision within the team and partner agencies.
• Develop and evaluate psychological care plans within a Positive Behaviour Support framework.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and contribute to service development and quality improvement.
