Senior Clinical Fellow in Interventional Cardiology

Royal Brompton Hospital, a leading specialist centre for heart and lung disease, is inviting applications for an experienced Interventional Senior Clinical Fellow. This fellowship offers an exceptional opportunity to work within a world‑leading tertiary cardiac centre, renowned for pioneering complex interventional cardiology procedures.

The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality patient care, perform advanced interventional procedures and contribute to clinical research and education. This role is ideal for a cardiologist looking to develop subspecialist expertise in complex coronary, structural and valvular interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a broad range of advanced interventional cardiology procedures, including coronary angioplasty, structural heart interventions and device implantations.
  • Manage acute and elective cardiac patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including cardiac surgeons, imaging specialists and allied health professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in clinical research projects and contribute to academic publications.
  • Provide teaching and supervision for junior medical staff and trainees.
Ideal Candidate
  • Fully qualified cardiologist with completion or near completion of core cardiology training.
  • Substantial experience in interventional cardiology, including exposure to complex procedures.
  • Strong commitment to clinical excellence, research and education.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and full GMC registration.
Qualifications and Training
  • MRCP completed or equivalent.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • On the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of attaining CCT.
