Job summary

Cowi in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to lead multidisciplinary design across highways, rail, water and energy sectors. The role offers office/home hybrid working and a clear path toward Chartership while delivering integrated, buildable solutions.

You will own technical deliverables, mentor junior engineers, coordinate interfaces, and maintain client relationships with local authorities and contractors.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering and eligible for chartership or progress toward it.
• Strong technical background in highways, drainage or utilities with multidisciplinary exposure.
• Experience delivering UK infrastructure projects across highways, rail, water, energy or development.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and drainage modelling tools, including design coordination.
• Ability to lead a discipline within multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces.
• Good written and verbal English communication; valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of infrastructure design packages across highways, rail, drainage and utilities.
• Act as technical lead and ensure effective integration with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specs and design reports with high quality.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, identify risks and opportunities for project success.
• Build relationships with clients, authorities, contractors and stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
• Support project managers with programme, resource and commercial objectives.
• Undertake site visits and provide construction-phase support when required.
• Apply CDM and design risk assessment requirements in project work.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians through guidance and reviews.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of technical standards and digital delivery.
