Job summary

Cowi in the UK is seeking a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure Design team. You will work on multidisciplinary projects across highways, rail, water, energy and development infrastructure, providing technical leadership from concept through to construction while mentoring junior engineers.

Based in Derby, Glasgow, York or Bristol with a flexible office/home hybrid setup, you will collaborate with specialists, deliver buildable, compliant designs and help

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or IEng, or progress toward qualification
• Strong technical background in infrastructure disciplines
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary designs
• Experience with Civil 3D, InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage
• Experience delivering UK infrastructure projects
• Full UK driving license
• Proficient English in written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of infrastructure design packages across highways, rail, drainage, utilities, power distribution and related disciplines, providing technical leadership from concept development through to detailed design and construction support.
• Act as a technical lead within your discipline while ensuring effective integration with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Prepare and review calculations, technical drawings, specifications, and design reports, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design interfaces, identifying risks, opportunities and constraints to support successful project outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities, contractors, statutory undertakers and other stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout project delivery.
• Support project managers in managing programme, resource and commercial objectives.
• Undertake site visits and provide construction-phase support where required.
• Mentor, support and develop junior engineers and technicians through technical guidance, coaching and review of their work.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards, digital delivery and engineering best practice across the team.
