Job summary

Pertemps Tm in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead flood risk and drainage design within a multidisciplinary consultancy. You will deliver drainage strategies, perform hydraulic calculations, and guide projects from concept through to completion on a range of developments and infrastructure schemes.

The role requires a strong background in drainage and flood risk, UK planning knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong experience in drainage design and flood risk.
• Experience producing Drainage Strategies and Flood Risk Assessments.
• Knowledge of SuDS and sustainable drainage principles.
• Experience with drainage/hydraulic modelling software.
• Good understanding of UK planning and drainage requirements.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• The ability to manage projects and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of flood risk and drainage projects.
• Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Undertake detailed surface water and foul drainage design.
• Design and assess SuDS, attenuation and flood mitigation solutions.
• Produce hydraulic calculations and drainage models.
• Support planning applications and liaise with LLFAs and Environment Agency.
• Develop infrastructure and external works designs.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and other stakeholders.
• Provide mentoring to junior engineers.
• Manage your workload and contribute to delivery and client relationships.
