Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior or Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of flood risk assessments, drainage strategies and sustainable water management for UK development and infrastructure projects.

You will oversee technical reports, liaise with authorities, and guide junior colleagues while delivering robust, policy-compliant solutions and client-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in flood risk assessment, drainage strategies and supporting planning documentation.
• Strong understanding of sustainable drainage principles, climate change allowances and water quality considerations.
• Proven ability to interpret hydraulic modelling outputs and inform technical advice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and oversee Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies for planning, environmental and infrastructure projects.
• Develop surface water management plans and sequential/exemption test documentation.
• Assess flood risk from multiple sources and propose proportionate mitigation measures.
