Job summary

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust is seeking two Consultant Cellular Pathologists to join a team providing a busy pathology service for the hospital and regional partners. The post includes anticipated subspecialist interests and participation in MDTs, with opportunities for teaching and academic activity.

The department is ISO 15189 accredited with lean processes, modern facilities, and plans for sub-specialisation aligned with team strengths and service needs.

Qualifications

• Primary medical qualification and FRCPath or equivalent.
• Wide knowledge of histopathology, morbid anatomy and cytology.
• Full GMC registration.
• UK training with CCT or eligible within six months of interview.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory and clinical duties at Consultant level.
• Teaching Junior Staff and involvement in audits.
• Participation in MDTs and policy planning.
