Job summary

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Cellular Pathology to join a busy, well‑equipped department. The post involves delivering high‑quality diagnostic pathology and leading training for junior staff.

The successful candidate will hold GMC registration with eligibility for the Specialist Register, and may have CCT or be near completion. Subspecialty interests such as hematopathology, gynecological, uropathology or GI pathology are welcomed and supported.

Qualifications

• Fully registered with the GMC and eligible for Consultant appointment.
• CCT or equivalent; or be within 6 months of CCT at interview and GMC Specialist Register application in progress.
• FRCPath (UK) or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Join an existing team of senior staff and Cabinets in delivering high‑quality cellular pathology services.
• Lead training and supervision for junior colleagues and multi‑professional teams.
• Contribute to service improvements, audits and clinical governance.
• Be flexible to work across Trust sites as required by the Clinical Lead.
