Job summary

Berry Recruitment is seeking Senior Catering Assistants to work in a hospital in Norwich. You will join the ward catering team ensuring high quality patient meal service and coordinating meals and beverages throughout the day.

Ideal candidates will have Level 2 in Food Hygiene and allergen training, and a minimum of 1 year in catering. The role operates Monday to Friday, 7am–4pm, with every other weekend; the environment is busy and cold.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in catering roles.
• Level 2 in Food Hygiene preferred; Allergen training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organise and maintain a hygienic environment for patients, staff and visitors.
• Provide meals and beverages to patients at agreed intervals.
• Pick and pack stores requests for ward kitchens twice daily (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
• Load trollies with provisions and monitor food temperatures.
• Rotate stock and maintain correct chilled/frozen parameters.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene standards.
• Record fridge/freezer temperatures daily and report issues.

Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for Senior Catering Assistants to work in a Hospital based in Norwich.

You will work as a part of the Ward catering team ensuring high quality service is provided to the patients. You will be responsible for the co-ordination of the patient meal and beverage services.

Please note- this role is working in a busy and cold environment.

Key accountabilities

• To organise the maintenance of a hygienic and clean environment for patients, staff and visitors to ensure the highest standards are met at all times.
• To ensure that patients are provided with appropriate meals and beverages at the agreed intervals throughout the day.
• To pick and pack any stores requests which are then delivered to the ward kitchens twice a day covering Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
• Load stores trollies with any provisions requested as necessary and monitor and record food temperatures.
• To ensure all stock is rotated and kept within the correct chilled and frozen parameters.
• To ensure that kitchen hygiene standards are maintained.
• To monitor and record fridge and freezer temperatures daily in accordance with food safety regulations and report problems as appropriate to your line manager.

This position will be Monday- Friday 7am- 4pm and working every other weekend- when working weekends you will have 2 days off within the week.

The ideal candidate would hold a Level 2 in Food Hygiene and have Allergen training, however we will still consider applicants without this.

Must have a minimum of 1 year experience within Catering roles.
