Job summary

Berry Recruitment are seeking a committed Catering Assistant for their client in Witney, Oxfordshire. The role involves working in a busy kitchen to support daily service.

Pay is £12.71 per hour, with Monday to Friday hours 07:00–15:00. You will follow HACCP and hygiene rules, assist with deliveries, storage and cleaning, and support the service area.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, catering or food service experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized.
• Good communication skills to report safety issues and work as a team.
• Understanding of proper uniform and hygiene standards in a food service setting.
• Willingness to take on different tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure HACCP compliance and hygiene.
• Check in deliveries and accept only high‑quality produce.
• Ensure proper food storage and FIFO stock rotation.
• Carry out cleaning and equipment maintenance.
• Prepare service area and assist in service.
• Maintain personal hygiene and uniform.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards to line manager.
• Assist in other kitchen duties during quieter periods.
• Support line manager with daily tasks.

Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Catering Assistant for our client in Witney, Oxfordshire in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Catering Assistant

Location:

Pay Rate:

£12.71 per hour

Hours:

Monday – Friday (07:00 – 15:00)

Key Responsibilities of the Catering Assistant:

• Ensuring all food hygiene regulations are adhered to, in particular HACCP regulations
• Checking in of food deliveries ensuring that only the highest standard of produce is accepted into the units.
• Ensuring that all food storage complies with food hygiene regulations and that F.I.F.O stock rotation system is being followed
• Cleaning duties associated with service and related equipment and/or furniture
• Preparation of service area and/or service points
• Correct storage of food items and equipment after service
• Maintain personal hygiene, appearance and uniform to company regulations always
• Comply and assist in the promotion and implementation of the company’s health and safety policy
• Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures.
• Assist in other unit kitchen onsite during quieter periods in hospitality
• Be aware of safety hazards within the kitchen and surrounding areas and to report them to your line manager
• Other duties assigned by your line manager from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the department.
