Job summary

Anchor Hanover Group at Hazel End Bishop's Stortford is seeking a Catering Assistant to help prepare and serve nutritious, well-presented meals for residents.

This role focuses on high standards of health, safety and hygiene, waste reduction and teamwork within a friendly kitchen team. You should have Level 2 Food Safety (or be willing to obtain it) and previous catering experience is desirable.

Hours: 31.5 per 2 weeks on a rolling rota, with every other weekend off.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience working with older people (ideal, but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and service of nutritious, well-presented meals.
• Ensuring health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed to the highest level.
• Helping minimise waste and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Supporting the catering team and communicating any issues promptly.
