Southern Housing is seeking an experienced Senior Care & Support Worker to lead and support a team delivering person-centred care on the Isle of Wight. You’ll work alongside the Registered Manager to maintain high standards and staff development.
You’ll be based at Ryde Village, Green Meadows, or other schemes, with flexible hours including evenings, weekends and on-call duties to meet residents’ needs.

Working closely with the Registered Manager and Team Leader, you’ll help lead and support the staff team while continuing to deliver person centred care to residents. You’ll play a key role in maintaining standards, supporting staff development, and ensuring care is delivered safely, compassionately and in line with individual care plans.
This is a hands on role that combines leadership with direct care. You’ll be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of residents and the service, including evenings, weekends, on call duties and rota cover where required. The role involves physically demanding work, including moving and handling, and supporting residents through both routine and emergency situations.
You’ll be based at Ryde Village, Green Meadows, Furze Brake, or one of our Personal Budget service schemes on the Isle of Wight, depending on the vacancy you’ve applied for. You may also be required to attend training at other offices or schemes.
You’re an experienced care professional with the confidence to support and motivate others while delivering excellent care yourself. You’re calm under pressure, organised and committed to safeguarding, quality and continuous improvement.
