Wight Home Care is seeking an experienced Community Support Team member to provide hands-on care and operational support across the service. The role involves covering annual leave, sickness and rota-driven shifts, with a two-week cycle and 91 hours.
You will help mobilise new care packages, support carers, and uphold high standards of care while developing the team. A full driving licence is essential and NVQ3 in Health & Social Care is preferred.
We are looking for an experienced and adaptable care professional to join our Community Support Team.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys delivering excellent hands‑on care while also supporting colleagues and helping ensure that new and existing care packages run smoothly.
You will be one of two Community Support Team members working opposite each other on a two‑week rota, providing reliable support across the service where it is needed most.
As part of the Community Support Team, you will provide care and operational support during periods of annual leave, sickness and other unexpected staffing pressures. You will also play an important part in supporting the introduction of new care packages, helping ensure that new services get off to the best possible start.
When you are not required to provide direct care cover, your role will include supporting and developing our care team and helping us maintain high standards of care.

This position works on a two‑week rotating pattern alongside another member of the Community Support Team, equating to 91 hours over a two week period. The first memeber of the Community Support Team would work the below shift pattern, with the second person mirroring them.

You will be paid for the full scheduled shift, regardless of the amount of care cover required during that shift. When direct care cover is not required, your time will be used to support other Community Support Team duties, including supporting new carers and care packages, completing spot checks and undertaking staff competency assessments.
We are looking for someone who is experienced, dependable and confident working both independently and as part of a wider care team.
Ideally, you will have:
A full driving licence and the ability to drive are essential for this role.
This isn't a standard care position.
You'll have the opportunity to make a difference not only to the people receiving care, but also to the carers delivering it. You'll help provide continuity when colleagues are unavailable, support new care packages as they begin and help develop and maintain standards across our care team.
