Markel in Leeds is seeking a Senior Claims Handler to join our specialist Care team. You will own a diverse and complex caseload across EL, PL, personal injury, and professional negligence, guiding claims from notification to settlement.

Work is hybrid (Leeds office four days plus one day at home). The role offers ownership of strategy, close collaboration with brokers and solicitors, and a clear path for progression in a high-performing, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in claims handling or legal background.
• Exposure to EL / PL / liability claims.
• Personal injury or professional negligence.
• Ability to manage complex cases independently.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a diverse and complex caseload across multiple lines.
• Develop and drive your own claims strategy.
• Work closely with policyholders, brokers and solicitors.
• Handle high-value and occasionally high-profile claims.
• Build strong customer relationships and deliver great outcomes.
