Job summary

Roseberry Care is seeking an experienced Senior Care Assistant for our Church View home in Bishop Auckland. You will provide hands-on care to residents and lead junior team members to maintain high standards of person-centred care.

You'll assist with daily living tasks, monitor residents' well-being, and ensure a safe, clean environment. The role offers 44 hours per week on day and night shifts, with alternate weekends, and a supportive team across our 25-care-home network.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Experience as a Senior Carer or similar role in a care home.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, etc.).
• Promote dignity, independence, and individual rights of residents.
• Supervise and support junior care staff and new team members.
• Monitoring residents’ conditions and report any changes to senior management or nursing staff.
• Communicate effectively with residents, ensuring they feel listened to and respected.
• Ensure the care environment is clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Your Role

As a Senior Care Assistant you will provide both hands-on support to residents and leadership to junior care staff within our local care home. Providing direct caregiving with supervisory responsibilities, you will ensure that our high standards of person-centred care are consistently delivered.
