Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Senior Care Assistant at Waterloo care home in Wimborne. You will deliver person-centred care to residents, including daily living activities, while supporting care plans and maintaining high standards of compassion and empathy.

The role offers 42 hours per week with 8am–8pm shifts and includes alternate weekends. Benefits include funded training up to QCF level 5, a refer-a-friend scheme, and a company pension. Previous dementia experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months right to work in the UK.
• Qualified to at least NVQ Level 2, and working towards NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
• At least two years' experience in a social care environment (preferably with vulnerable people over 65).
• Good demonstrable knowledge and experience of dementia.
• Excellent communication skills and empathy towards residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care including bathing, dressing and oral care.
• Contribute to and carry out care reviews with residents.
• Administer residents' medication in a safe and compliant manner.
• Lead and participate in social activities and trips within the home.
• Support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development.

What is required from you?

• A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
• Qualified to at least NVQ Level 2, and achieved or working towards NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)
• At least two years' experience working in a social care environment - preferably with vulnerable people over 65
• Good demonstrable knowledge and experience of dementia
• Excellent communication skills and a real ability to show empathy to people under your car
• Senior Care Assistant at 42 hours per week to work from 8am to 8pm to include alternative weekends

A day in the life of a Senior Care Assistant

• Person-centred care - You will ensure that residents receive personal care from you and your team including bathing, dressing and oral care within their preferences, and actively promote right to choice and independence
• Review -You will contribute to and carry out care reviews with your residents to ensure their plans reflect their needs.
• Medication - You will administer residents' medication in a safe and supportive and compliant way
• Social Activity - You will lead in and participate in trips out, social engagements and activities within the home .
• Leadership - you may support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be called up on to lead the home where more senior managers are not available .
