Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Senior Care Assistant at Waterloo care home in Wimborne Minster. You will provide person-centred care and support residents with daily tasks, working 42 hours per week from 8am to 8pm, including alternate weekends.

Benefits include £13.46 per hour, funded training up to QCF level 5, a company pension, and a refer-a-friend scheme up to £1000. We value empathy, strong communication, and experience with dementia.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months right to work in the UK.
• Qualified to NVQ Level 2, and working towards NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
• At least two years' experience working in a social care environment - preferably with vulnerable people over 65.
• Good demonstrable knowledge and experience of dementia.
• Excellent communication skills and empathy to people under your care.

Responsibilities

• Person-centred care - You will ensure that residents receive personal care from you and your team including bathing, dressing and oral care within their preferences, and actively promote right to choice and independence
• Review - You will contribute to and carry out care reviews with your residents to ensure their plans reflect their needs.
• Medication - You will administer residents' medication in a safe and supportive and compliant way
• Social Activity - You will lead in and participate in trips out, social engagements and activities within the home .
• Leadership - you may support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be called up on to lead the home where more senior managers are not available .

What is required from you?

• A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
• Qualified to at least NVQ Level 2, and achieved or working towards NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)
