Job summary

Haling Park Care Home in Croydon is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care for our residents.

You will manage shift activities, supervise medication administration, maintain accurate care records, and communicate with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care; NVQ Level 2 (Level 3 desirable) and competency in medication are essential; we offer a 46-hour week, paid DBS, pension, uniform, and 5.6 weeks' annual leave.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
• Level 3 in Health & Social Care desirable or working towards it
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the care team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care
• Take responsibility for smooth running of your shift and ensure care is well organised and delivered to a high standard
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing
• Respond to changes and ensure care remains safe and appropriate
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate with families and healthcare professionals

Job description

Located in Croydon, London, our care home has been purposely built to support older people in making the most of every day. We provide Nursing, Residential, Dementia, Respite & Pallative Care for 62-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.62 per hour
• Contracted to 46 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
