The Fleet Care Home in Dartmouth, Devon, part of Care Concern Group, seeks a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team delivering safe, person-centred care for up to 79 residents. You will guide shifts, oversee medication, monitor wellbeing and maintain clear records, ensuring high-quality care.

You will work alternate weekends, communicating with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is required (minimum).
• Level 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable or willingness to work towards.

Our care home, nestled in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, provides exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 79 residents, offering a serene and supportive environment where quality care meets coastal charm.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.33 per hour
• Contracted to 48 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
