Job summary

Alexander House Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to oversee a shift and support a care team in delivering safe, person-centred care at our Exeter-area home. Competitive hourly pay and benefits apply.

You will be involved in medication administration, recording, and liaising with families and health professionals, with weekend requirements as part of the role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

Job description

Our newly built care home is based in the charming suburb of Pinhoe, Exeter. We offer exceptional standards of Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 67 residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.00 - £14.00 per hour
• Contracted to 24-48 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The sucessful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
