Job summary

Our luxury care home in Portcanna, Cardiff, part of Care Concern Group, invites applications for a Senior Care Assistant. You will guide and support a care team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care, overseeing medication administration and resident wellbeing.

You’ll maintain accurate records, communicate with families and healthcare professionals, and ensure smooth shift operations. Weekend work alternate is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Medication administration training with competency essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
