Job summary

Ty Llandaff Care Home in Cardiff seeks a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe, welcoming environment and support laundry duties. This hands-on role directly impacts comfort and daily wellbeing.

You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene standards, follow infection control procedures, and work as part of a friendly team. Alternate weekends required; 32 hours per week at £12.71 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or care settings preferred but not essential.
• Strong emphasis on hygiene and infection control practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Assist with laundry duties including washing, drying and ironing; label and handle clothing with care.
• Follow infection control, health and safety, and housekeeping procedures to ensure safe tasks.
• Alternate weekends required; contribute to a well-organised, comfortable living environment for residents.

Our luxury care home in Portcanna, Cardiff, offers exceptional Nursing and Residential care for 69-residents, providing a refined and comfortable environment where personalized care and elegant living come together.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 32 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
