Job summary

The Fleet Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide a care team in delivering safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care for residents. You will help organise the shift, supervise medication administration and ensure clear communication with families and clinicians.

Role requires strong leadership, compassion and ongoing commitment to professional care standards; alternate weekends are required to cover shifts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is minimum requirement.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
• Caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide the care team to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care.
• Oversee handover and ensure shift is well organised and delivered to a high standard.
• Assist with medication administration and monitor residents' wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate with families and healthcare professionals.
• Work alternate weekends as required.

Job description

Our care home, nestled in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, provides exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 79 residents, offering a serene and supportive environment where quality care meets coastal charm.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.33 per hour


• Contracted to 48 hours per week


• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided


• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

We Are Looking For
