Job summary

Ty LLandaff Care Home in Cardiff is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide a care team and deliver high quality, person-centred care to 69 residents. You will oversee medications, monitor wellbeing, and ensure records are accurate while liaising with families and health professionals.

The role requires leadership, excellent communication, and a caring, professional approach, with alternate weekends and full-time duties described. Salary is competitive per hour for a 44-hour week.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial

Our luxury care home in Portcanna, Cardiff, offers exceptional Nursing and Residential care for 69-residents, providing a refined and comfortable environment where personalized care and elegant living come together

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
