Job summary

Roseberry Care Centres is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for Church View in Bishop Auckland. You will provide hands-on support to residents and lead junior team members, ensuring high standards of person-centred care. The role offers 44 hours per week with day and night shifts.

Salary is £14.75 per hour, with visa sponsorship not available. You will work in a welcoming home within a network of 25 homes, focused on kindness, inclusivity and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Carer or similar role in a care home environment
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it)
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• A genuine passion for elderly care and team development

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, etc.).
• Promote dignity, independence, and individual rights of residents.
• Supervise and support junior care staff and new team members.
• Monitoring residents' conditions and report any changes to senior management or nursing staff.
• Communicate effectively with residents, ensuring they feel listened to and respected.
• Ensure the care environment is clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Your Role:

As a Senior Care Assistant you will provide both hands-on support to residents and leadership to junior care staff within our local care home. Providing direct caregiving with supervisory responsibilities, you will ensure that our high standards of person-centred care are consistently delivered.
