Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced Cardiac Physiologist/Healthcare Scientist to join the Diagnostic Cardiology Unit within the Cardiac Device and EP service. The role requires BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA accreditation in cardiac devices or electrophysiology and registration with RCCP/AHCS/HCPC.

The post involves 37.5 hours per week over 4 days, with 8am-6pm sessions and on-call commitments to support PPCI and device follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Accreditation in cardiac devices or electrophysiology is required (BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA).
• BSc in Clinical Physiology or higher in relevant field; RCCP/AHCS/HCPC registration desirable.
• Experience in invasive cardiac physiology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support invasive Cardiac Physiology Service delivering high-quality work.
• Undertake simple and complex cardiac device implantation and follow-up.
• Undertake electrophysiology studies.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rota for PPCI and urgent device follow-up/implant.
• Support other invasive and non-invasive investigations as required.
• Provide leadership, training and education to enable staff development.
