Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join the Cardiac Device and EP service within Diagnostic Cardiology. The role requires accreditation in cardiac devices or EP and HCPC/RCCP registration, with leadership responsibilities and ongoing staff development.

The post is full-time (37.5 hours/week), four days with on-call commitments and flexible working across seven days.

Qualifications

• MSc Clinical Science (Cardiac, Vascular, Respiratory and Sleep Sciences) or other Level 7 qualification.
• BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA accreditation in CRM or EP.
• Active BHRS membership.
• Registration with RCCP, AHCS or HCPC.
• SCST parts I & II (if applicable to qualification route).
• Immediate Life Support.
• Teaching or managerial qualification/experience.
• Registered as a Clinical Scientist with the HCPC.
• Continual Professional Development (CPD) participation.

Responsibilities

• Support the Invasive Cardiac Physiology Service by delivering high-quality, safe care.
• Perform simple and complex cardiac device implant follow up per BHRS guidelines.
• Carry out electrophysiology studies.
• Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota for PPCI and urgent cardiac device follow up.
• Undertake and support invasive and non-invasive investigations as required.
• Provide leadership, training and education to develop staff competencies.
• Collaborate with senior team to deliver in-house invasive physiology training.
