Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is recruiting a Senior/Chief Cardiac Physiologist (Band 6/7) for Devices/Invasive roles. The post involves pacemaker/ICD implantation work, device follow-ups and home monitoring, with independence in pacing and basic angiography.

The role requires advanced knowledge in cardiac rhythm management and invasive cardiology, supervising staff, and communicating clinically sensitive information to teams and patients.

Qualifications

• Independence in bradycardia pacing (implant and follow up).
• Independence in basic cardiac angiography.
• Competence in range of cardiac investigations.
• Specialist knowledge in rhythm management and device therapy.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pacemaker and ICD procedures including implantation.
• Conduct device follow-ups and home monitoring reviews.
• Report electrode position suitability to implanting physician.
• Carry out device follow ups with remote monitoring and write reports.
• Attend ICD/CRT-D deactivations and device reprogramming as required.
