Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Senior Carbon Consultant to join the UK advisory team. You will deliver decarbonisation services across a range of projects, from infrastructure carbon management to strategy advisory. The role requires 7+ years in carbon footprinting/LCA and strong client-facing abilities.

You will lead complex assessments, support bid submissions, and mentor junior staff, while working within a hybrid policy and diverse environment at a global engineering consultancy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years delivering carbon footprinting / LCA / carbon management across infrastructure projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
• Knowledge of ISO14064, PAS2060, PAS2080 and related methodologies
• Experience with net zero, carbon in construction, and environmental impact assessment
• Ability to work both independently and in a team with flexible delivery

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of carbon footprinting, LCA, and carbon management projects
• Ensure projects meet quality, time, and budget requirements
• Assess project performance against national/international standards
• Develop data analyses with traceable, robust calculations
• Prepare reports and present final results to clients
• Support bid submissions and opportunity development
• Mentor junior staff to build carbon skills
