Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of ScottishPower and the Iberdrola Group, is recruiting a Senior Design Engineer (CAD Technician) to produce civil and structural drawings for substations across our 132kV network in Prenton. You will mentor junior team members and support BIM workflows.

The role requires an HNC in Civil Engineering or Eng Tech, strong AutoCAD skills with XREFs, and at least 7 years’ experience designing civil/structural drawings. Hybrid working available.

Qualifications

• Essential HNC in Civil Engineering or Eng Tech qualification.
• Strong AutoCAD knowledge, including XREFs and BIM workflows.
• Extensive civil/structural drawing experience, 7+ years.

Responsibilities

• Produce civil and structural layouts, GA drawings, sections and details.
• Prepare concrete reinforcement drawings and schedules.
• Coordinate with civil engineers to develop integrated designs.
• Review drawings from others and ensure quality and accuracy.
• Support BIM workflows and digital engineering initiatives.
