Senior Business Development Manager – Foreign Exchange (FX)

The Role

Our client is looking for an ambitious Senior Business Development Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy sales environment. You'll be responsible for driving new business, building and managing your own pipeline, and developing long-term client relationships in a highly rewarding and competitive FX market.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a sales-driven individual with a proven background in FX or financial services sales, who is eager to further their career with one of the most dynamic firms in the sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively source and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals.
  • Build, manage, and nurture your own sales pipeline from scratch, qualifying and disqualifying leads daily.
  • Arrange and attend client meetings (both virtual and in-person) to understand their currency risk needs and present tailored FX solutions.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to build brand presence and generate new leads.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams (trading, operations, compliance) to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery.
  • Maintain high levels of outbound sales activity, including calls, emails, and meetings, to consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Stay informed about FX market movements, economic developments, and geopolitical news that could impact client portfolios.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and prepare regular pipeline and forecast reports.
  • Participate actively in training and development sessions to sharpen your sales skills and product knowledge.
  • Uphold the highest standards of compliance and client-centric ethics at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in FX sales, financial services sales, or B2B solution-based sales with a strong track record of closing new business.
  • Proven ability to build, manage, and convert a self-generated pipeline.
  • Strong cold-calling skills with resilience, persistence, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
  • Highly motivated, target-driven, and competitive, while maintaining a collaborative team spirit.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to articulate complex financial products simply.
  • Willingness to attend events and meet clients face-to-face to build strong relationships.
  • A proactive approach to self-development, coachability, and acting on feedback.
  • Fluent English is essential; additional languages are an advantage but not required.
