Senior Business Development Lead – Modular Construction

Job summary

Superb People is recruiting an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive new business in modular construction and the wider sector. You will manage client relationships, qualify opportunities and push projects from enquiry to contract award, partnering with estimating, design and pre-construction teams.

This hands-on role covers developing budgets, monitoring pipelines, and engaging with public sector frameworks to win turnkey solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction business development.
• Experience with modular construction or main contractor environments.
• Knowledge of CRM systems and sales pipelines.
• Understanding of early-stage project development and budgeting.
• Experience with public sector frameworks and tenders.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming enquiries and qualify opportunities based on scope, budget, funding and timescales.
• Develop indicative project budgets using prior costs and benchmark rates.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects, local authorities and public sector organisations.
• Identify new business opportunities through networking, market research, outbound activity and existing relationships.
• Monitor planning and procurement portals to identify potential projects and opportunities for early engagement.
• Guide clients through feasibility, design development, planning and procurement processes.
• Coordinate with estimating and pre-construction teams to progress qualified opportunities towards fixed-price proposals.
• Attend client meetings and site visits, acting as the main commercial contact through to contract award.
• Support public sector framework opportunities, including monitoring pipelines and preparing monthly reporting returns.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, monitoring sales pipelines and reporting on business development performance.
