Job summary

Gateley Smithers Purslow is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor in Leeds to inspect and advise on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings. You will prepare reports, lead large value projects and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

You will supervise graduates and junior surveyors, promote the firm’s services to secure work, and apply CDM and planning requirements while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• BSc Hons in Building Surveying or equivalent.
• Experience with consulting engineering, surveying, architectural and planning practices.
• Experience in defect diagnosis and report writing.
• Knowledge of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and advise on design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings and sites.
• Prepare reports, schedules of work and works specifications.
• Undertake large value projects independently with sound knowledge of professional consultancy services.
• Design and oversee works using recognised contracts to current standards.
• Promote the company’s services to secure projects and raise the Smithers Purslow profile.
• Supervise and support Graduates and Building Surveyors to share knowledge.
• Comply with company procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
