Job summary

Gateley plc is seeking a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to support the Regional Manager/Technical Director and lead a team within authority. You will inspect and advise on design, construction and refurbishment, manage your team, mentor APC candidates and liaise with HR and department heads.

You will undertake large value projects, apply health and safety and regulatory standards, promote the Gateley Smithers Purslow brand, and develop client relationships across Gateley Built Environment.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification with current status and relevant professional registration.
• Experience in consulting engineering, surveying, architectural and planning practices.
• Defect diagnosis and report writing experience.
• Insurance repair project experience preferred.
• Negotiation, supervisory and leadership experience required.
• Experience in working to deadlines and budgets on large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and advise on design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings and sites.
• Day to day management of the assigned team.
• Liaise with department head and HR on trends and team matters.
• Mentoring APC candidates to promote knowledge and understanding.
• Undertake surveys, prepare reports, schedules of works and specifications.
• Design and oversee works using recognised contracts and current standards.
• Manage large value projects independently with sound knowledge of professional consultancy services.
• Apply health and safety, party wall, building regulation and planning requirements.
• Promote Gateley Smithers Purslow services to secure projects and client relationships.
• Adhere to company procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
