Job summary

Gateley Smithers Purslow invites applications for a full-time Building Surveyor based in Leeds. You will support the surveying team on a diverse range of projects across Yorkshire and surrounding areas, handling inspections, reporting and design oversight.

The role requires a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying, solid knowledge of CDM Regs 2015, and strong numerical and IT skills. The team values proactive communication and a flexible approach to workloads.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or postgraduate Building Surveying skills with strong analytical ability.
• Experience in defect diagnosis and report writing.
• Knowledge of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation.
• Experience working to deadlines and budgets on large projects.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements and legal standards.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written, with clients and teams.
• Flexible attitude to different work types and client needs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and advise on design, construction, maintenance and refurbishment of buildings and sites.
• Carry out acquisitions surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations.
• Prepare reports, schedules of work and works specifications.
• Design and oversee works using standard contract forms and current technical standards.
• Apply health and safety, Party Wall, building regulations and planning requirements.
• Support and guide junior team members and promote the company’s services.
