Job summary

Gateley Smithers Purslow, part of Gateley Built Environment, is seeking a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor in the UK to lead and mentor a technical team. You will inspect, report, and oversee design and refurbishment projects, ensuring compliance with CDM and Building Regulations while promoting the firm’s services across the client base.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification required and acknowledged.
• Demonstrated experience in consulting engineering, surveying, and planning practices.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and advise on design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of buildings and sites.
• Manage and mentor assigned team members; oversee workload and training.
• Liaise with department head and HR on trends and team matters; support APC candidates.
• Prepare reports, schedules of works, and specifications; oversee designs with standard contracts.
• Undertake large value projects independently with knowledge across professional consultancy.
