Job summary

HD Surveyors Ltd in Manchester is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to lead professional and project building surveying instructions for commercial clients. Hybrid working is available, and you will own instructions, advise clients, supervise junior surveyors, and contribute to fee growth.

The role requires a degree in Building Surveying, MRICS preferred, consultancy experience, and strong client management.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of professional and project building surveying instructions.
• Deliver commissions against agreed scope, programme, fee and reporting requirements.
• Advise commercial property clients directly on building-related matters.
• Manage client relationships throughout individual instructions.
• Develop repeat instructions from existing client relationships.
• Identify opportunities for additional fee income within live commissions.
• Deliver professional surveying work including technical inspections, reporting and client advice.
• Manage project-based instructions from initial brief through delivery.
• Prepare and review technical reports.
• Maintain responsibility for technical quality and professional risk on allocated instructions.
• Coordinate with project management, monitoring and cost management disciplines where required.
• Support business development and client engagement activity.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior surveyors.
• Contribute to the development of less experienced members of the building surveying team.
