Job summary

Carrington West in Manchester is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Building Surveyor to support a growing building consultancy. You will own projects across commercial, residential and public sector properties, developing technical expertise while working with experienced professionals.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of professional and project surveying services, with APC support and a collaborative, progressive environment in a modern Manchester office.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering a range of professional and project surveying services.
  • Knowledge of building pathology, construction technology and UK Building Regulations.
  • Experience producing technical reports and specifications.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • APC support available as required.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out condition, defect and measured surveys.
  • Producing detailed technical reports and specifications.
  • Preparing schedules of condition, dilapidations and planned maintenance reports.
  • Managing refurbishment, maintenance and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
  • Contract administration and project management duties.
  • Preparing tender documentation and assisting with procurement.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Providing professional building surveying advice and ensuring projects are delivered to programme and budget.

My client are a growing Building Consultancy in Manchester looking to appoint an Intermediate or Senior Building Surveyor to support the continued expansion of their Building Surveying team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious surveyor looking to take ownership of projects, work across a varied portfolio, and progress their career within a supportive and collaborative consultancy. Whether you're working towards chartership or already MRICS qualified, you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while working closely with experienced professionals.

You'll be involved in delivering a broad range of professional and project-based building surveying services across commercial, residential and public sector properties.

Typical duties will include:
  • Carrying out condition, defect and measured surveys.
  • Producing detailed technical reports and specifications.
  • Preparing schedules of condition, dilapidations and planned maintenance reports.
