Job summary

Jewson in Haywards Heath is seeking a Senior Sales Advisor with a passion for great service and a proactive approach to customers. The role offers a competitive salary, staff discount, life assurance, and 34 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays).

You will develop relationships with customers, understand their needs, and provide proactive advice and solutions while contributing to sales growth in a busy building materials environment.

Qualifications

• In depth knowledge of building materials, construction-related products and the merchant industry.
• Sound awareness of commercial metrics (margin, pricing, conversion rates, sales forecasting, etc.) with ability to interpret data, identify trends, and take action to improve performance.
• We are looking for a team player with a desire to succeed.
• A background in Sales with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets would be preferable.
• Self motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Strong communication and commercial awareness to be able to provide great customer service.

Responsibilities

• Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions.
• Develop great relationships with new and existing Customers (both face to face and over the phone), understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions so that you can deliver the best experience possible.
• Get to know the local market to support plans for sales growth.
• Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey.
• Maximising customer interactions to support achievement of sales and profit targets through upselling and cross-selling relevant products, offering specific product advice.
• Getting to know our suppliers and continuously looking for opportunities to improve product and industry knowledge.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow sales, setting clear objectives for the team and maximising growth through cross selling and leveraging our solutions such as Project Estimator and Tool Hire.
