Job summary

Jewson in Haywards Heath is seeking a Senior Sales Advisor to deliver great service to customers in-store. You will build relationships, understand customer needs, and use our systems to process orders, arrange deliveries and drive sales.

You’ll work 7:00am–16:30pm or 7:30am–17:00pm Monday to Friday with every other Saturday morning. We offer a discretionary bonus, staff discount, life assurance and 34 days of holiday, plus retailer discounts and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• In depth knowledge of building materials, construction-related products and the merchant industry including local market dynamics and competitor activity.
• Sound awareness of commercial metrics (margin, pricing, conversion rates, sales forecasting, etc.) with ability to interpret data, identify trends, and take action to improve performance.
• We are looking for a team player with a desire to succeed.
• A background in Sales with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets would be preferable.
• Self motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Strong communication and commercial awareness to be able to provide great customer service.

Responsibilities

• Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions.
• Develop great relationships with new and existing Customers (face to face and over the phone) to deliver proactive advice and solutions.
• Get to know the local market to support plans for sales growth.
• Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey.
• Maximise customer interactions to support achievement of sales and profit targets through upselling and cross-selling relevant products.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow sales, setting clear objectives for the team and maximise growth through cross selling and leveraging our solutions.
