Job summary

Wakefield Council is seeking a talented Senior Building Control Surveyor to join our expanding Building Control Service. You will undertake complex plan assessments, site inspections and enforce Building Regulations across the district.

Qualifications

• Experience with Building Controls and regulatory practice.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and related legislation.
• Ability to plan and coordinate a wide range of activities.

Responsibilities

• undertake complex plan assessments and site inspections.
• ensure compliance with Building Regulations and undertake enforcement action where necessary.
• manage dangerous structures, emergency response work and demolition notifications.
• support major development projects and higher-risk buildings.
• work with developers, architects, contractors and stakeholders to deliver safe development.
• mentor and support colleagues and develop future Building Control professionals.
• maintain accurate records and contribute to governance, quality management and audit processes.
