Job summary

Amey is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Consulting Structures team in Newcastle. The role involves leading bridges and civil-structures projects, mentoring staff, and delivering design work from quotation through handover.

You will work within a vibrant, multi-disciplinary team on challenging regional and national projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in bridges and civil structures in an engineering role or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of structural engineering principles.
• Ability to produce or oversee deliverables meeting technical standards and Client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridges/civil structures projects from start to finish, including design development, calculations and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and oversee junior staff.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and deliverables to quality, cost and programme criteria.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives and attend progress meetings.
• Contribute to bids and general work-winning activities.
• Drive health and safety practices within the team.
