Job summary

Amey is seeking a Senior Engineer (Bridges) to join the Consulting Structures team in Glasgow. The role focuses on leading a small, locally based team, delivering technically sound engineering solutions for major road and bridge projects across the UK.

You will drive bids, interface with clients and suppliers, and ensure delivery from initial quotation through to handover. The ideal candidate has extensive structures experience, familiarity with design standards, and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Developed experience and expertise within the Structures field.
• Ability to produce or oversee technically sound engineering solutions.
• Ownership for preparation and checking of deliverables and checks.
• Good knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team and delivering technically sound solutions.
• Take ownership from quotation to handover of projects.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Oversee junior staff and mentor their development.
• Contribute to bids and work-winning activities.
• Ensure health and safety practices within the team.
